While exploring the exhibit via its system of walkways and footbridges, you will come across animals that we humans have pushed to the edge of extinction. Here it is possible to encounter a small herd of critically endangered Vietnamese sika deer (Cervus nippon pseudaxis) and admire a pair of critically endangered Siberian cranes (Leucogeranus leucogeranus) in the distance.
A part of the Mainland Islands exhibit is split into three sections that feature endangered species of lemurs - Lemur Paradise. There are four lemur species to explore - ring-tailed lemurs (Lemur catta), white-headed lemurs (Eulemur albifrons), black lemurs (Eulemur macaco), and red-bellied lemurs (Eulemur rubriventer).
Lemur Paradise is open only in fine weather from 2 until 3 p.m.
